Job Overview:A respected law firm specializing in civil litigation is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team in Sherman Oaks, California. This role involves representing clients in various civil litigation matters, such as personal injury, contract disputes, employment issues, and business disputes. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advice, prepare and manage legal documents, and advocate for clients' interests throughout the litigation process.Location:Duties:Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception to resolution, including personal injury, contract, employment, and business disputes.Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop strategies and arguments.Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents necessary for litigation.Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.Provide legal counsel to clients, advising them on potential risks and legal implications.Conduct negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to civil litigation.Maintain accurate case files and documentation, ensuring thorough record-keeping.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation law.Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, rules, and court systems.Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in managing multiple cases and prioritizing tasks effectively.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.Strong negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills.Professional demeanor and commitment to client confidentiality.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, GSuite, or related software.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the California State Bar.Skills:Strong litigation and case management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Proficient in legal research, analysis, and strategic thinking.Effective negotiation and advocacy skills.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in all work.Ability to maintain client relationships and confidentiality.Collaborative and supportive work environment that emphasizes professional growth.Inclusive workplace committed to diversity and equal opportunity.
