A law firm based in Denver, CO, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Railroad Litigation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in railroad civil litigation, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess exceptional legal skills. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients, handle depositions, appear in court, and contribute to business development efforts.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in railroad litigation cases, including pre-trial motions and trial/arbitration.Handle all aspects of case management from inception to resolution.Take and defend facts and expert depositions.Engage and prepare expert witnesses, including expert disclosures and reporting.Conduct thorough legal research and draft compelling legal documents.Manage and delegate tasks to paralegals and other support staff.Interact directly with insurance claims representatives for case assessment, evaluation, and strategy.Conduct pre-trial discovery, including large document production and database management.Participate in mediation and arbitration, with first chair experience preferred.Develop and maintain client relationships, including interviewing and meeting with client representatives.Contribute to marketing and business development efforts.Draft publications, articles, or legal presentations as needed.RequirementsCurrently licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.Minimum of 2+ years of experience defending railroad civil litigation cases.Proven experience in Railroad Litigation with a strong case management background.Ability to travel as required by the role.Competent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.CertificationsActive license to practice law in Colorado.SkillsExceptional research and writing skills.Excellent communication and analytical abilities.Strong work ethic and organizational skills.Experience in managing and delegating work to paralegals.Experience with all facets of pre-trial discovery and motions.Ability to handle large document productions and database matters.Marketing and business development skills are a plus.Drafting publications, articles, or legal presentations is preferred.
