Position Function
Drive City vehicles, providing a safe environment for passengers and pedestrians. Job duties require direct contact with children.Tasks/Duties
Transport passengers as scheduled by operating the City bus, vans and/or vehicles.Responsible for the cleanliness of assigned vehicle during and after each trip, maintaining full fuel levels. Report mechanical problems promptly to Fleet Maintenance.Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain various reports, including complete trip reports.Work with mentally and physically challenged persons and senior citizens, providing a safe environment for each passenger. Physically assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle, as required.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends.Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years passenger bus or school bus experience, or combination of four (4) years driving school or passenger bus, and large trucks (dump trucks, boom truck, etc).Customer service experience.Able to work any and all combinations of shift assignments to include weekdays, weekday evenings and weekends.Valid Florida Class B commercial driver license (CDL) with air brake and passenger endorsements.PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or G.E.D.Valid American Red Cross CPR/AED certification.Valid American Red Cross First Aid certification.
Supplemental Information
Applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure & Authorization Regarding Background Investigation, a Confidentiality Agreement and a criminal background screening.
NOTE: This position is covered under the D.O.T. regulations for pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and inquiries.
Driving history for the past three (3) years must reflect no violations of a driving related offense, or driving under the influence (DUI) which includes both drugs and alcohol, reckless driving, or hit and run involving an occupied vehicle or attended property, or an accumulation of traffic violations, plus three (3) points for each attendance at driving school (regardless of whether points were assessed against the license) where the penalty points do not exceed twelve (12).
Employees have access to onsite gym facilities through the City's Wellness Program.
