DutiesThis is a trainee position in the Management and Resources Staff (MRS) of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB).

The incumbent is an entry level specialist in organizational administrative management programs, and will be responsible for assisting senior level specialist with complex and sometimes controversial studies in a wide variety of administrative management areas that include but are not limited to:

Budget analysis and preparation

Personnel and Human Resources work

Clerical work

Bureau planning and policy development

TRAINEE POSITION OF: Administrative Support Specialist

Pay Plan: GS Series: 0301 Grades: GS-09

THIS POSITION HAS POTENTIAL FOR ONE-TIME ACCELERATED PROMOTION IN 6 MONTHS.

Upon satisfactory completion of an upward mobility training and developmental program the employee will be eligible for placement in a target position and grade of:

An individual training plan will be designed for the individual selected and will cover the entire training period. The plan will specify developmental assignments involving on-the-job training as well as formal training courses. The training plan will correspond to the particular needs of the individual selected in order to meet the requirements of the target position.

Note: Further advancement will depend upon the ultimate full performance grade level of the position and involve normal career progression based upon future performance, availability of work and completion of regular qualifications and time-in-grade requirements.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
