Physical Therapy Faculty - DPT-AZ (Hybrid)

We are seeking a dedicated educator to teach courses aligned with our approved curriculum in physical therapy. In this hybrid role, you will deliver content based on established course descriptions and syllabi set by the Physical Therapy Faculty Curriculum Committee and overseen by the Dean. Responsibilities may also include serving as a lab instructor or teaching specific modules when not designated as the primary course instructor.
In addition to teaching, you will actively engage in research and share your findings to advance the profession. Non-teaching responsibilities will include instructional development, academic advising, participation in university-wide initiatives and task forces, and other related duties. Typical Schedule
This is an exempt, faculty appointment governed by the Faculty Protocol. The selected candidate may need to be available during early mornings, evenings, and weekends to meet the academic program's needs. Occasional travel to the NH Center may also be required.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Instructional Responsibilities:
Teach courses and content in your area of expertise as assigned by the Program Director, following the approved syllabus and established workload.
Assess student learning outcomes and contribute to the Program Assessment for departmental accreditation.
Update and revise course content and teaching methodologies to ensure relevance and currency.
Stay informed about current texts, materials, teaching aids, and techniques in the discipline, recommending adoptions when appropriate.
Actively seek innovative approaches to enhance instruction and improve student learning.
Academic Advising:
Maintain regular office hours for academic advising and student consultations, ensuring they are convenient for students.
Meet with students as needed by appointment and hold office hours during in-person Intensive labs; other office hours can be conducted via technology.
Departmental Activities:
Actively engage in curriculum planning and assessment initiatives.
Participate in accreditation processes to uphold program standards.
Contribute to recruitment and admission activities to attract prospective students.
Position Requirements/Skills/Abilities:
Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) and a certification in area of specialization. Outline other experiences needed. Incumbents without a terminal degree will be considered provided they are committed to enroll in a doctoral program upon hire.
Must be licensed or eligible to obtain licensure in AZ within 90 days of hire.
Must possess a minimum of five years of clinical experience.
General disciplinary knowledge in equipment use expected.
Understanding of Technology used in hybrid education.
