Strategic Ledger Program - Operating Model & Process Solutions Lead

The Strategic Ledger Program has been established under the wider Citi Finance Transformation. The program strategy is to adopt and implement global standard Oracle SaaS/Cloud based accounting and ledger platform (the “strategic ledger”). The outcome will be a robust global process, governance, and controls to ensure consistent and materially accurate, complete, and timely ledger data and results.
The Finance Controllers program team, in partnership with Finance Technology, selected Oracle Cloud as the technology platform, after a rigorous technical and functional assessment of Citi’s current ledger platforms against leading industry solutions. The new platform provides enhanced technical capability and supports our finance transformation strategy and realization of our Target Operating Model.
The program has established a Citi-wide governance and cross-functional team including Finance, Operations, Risk, Business and Technology partners.
The scope of the program includes:
Centralize and standardize accounting into global accounting hubs and sub-ledgers
Implement a standard sub ledger and general ledger for the firm
Replace Citi’s current Operating and Reporting ledgers, including those embedded in bank-in-a-box platforms such as Flexcube
Automate and streamline accounting and ledger processes and controls
Address source data quality issues impacting ledgers in partnership with enterprise-wide data priorities
Align contractual and instrument level balances and positions with financial balances
The Operating Model & Process Solutions Lead will report to the Operating Model & Process Director Lead who will be responsible for the Design of Citi's Oracle / SaaS enable Operating Model and process design for accounting, ledger and close processes and the integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Defining and driving the implementation the Target Operating Model for "run the ledger" and "user the ledger" processes and teams across operations, finance and business, in close partnership with BAU process owners.
Defining detailed target state process maps covering ledger operations, accounting, Ledger and Close processes within the Oracle SaaS environment, and key interactions with partner applications (both up and downstream) including required process changes in Front Office and Operations.
Defining transition plan from current to target state org, including integration of legacy teams into new operating model and adoption of latest cloud and self-service tools and capabilities across teams and functions.
Integration of Operating model and wider business architecture concepts into SL program and alignment with Citi's enterprise Architecture requirements
Partnering with implementation leads to ensure all operating model and process activities are aligned with overall release and go-live schedules.
Supporting the preparation and execution of testing for UAT
Identifying opportunities to drive wider operating model and organizational change ahead of Strategic Ledger implementation.
Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience with global corporations and financial services experience gained in Banking, Financial Services or in an associated consulting role
Experience in implementing Technology Enabled Transformation or Digital Transformations in the Financial Services industry.
Experience in large scale Target Operating Model and process design and implementation
Proven track record of significant organizational transformations and SaaS enabled ERP transformations (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
Ability to self-start, identify, engage with and influence a wide and diverse group of senior stakeholders to MD level.
Experience in successfully managing complex projects and programs which include external suppliers through the full project lifecycle, from conception through rollout and ongoing support
High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentation development
Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) enabled Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transformations (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
Leadership Experience as a Process or Product Owner within a Chief Accounting Officer, Controllership and Finance Shared Services Organization is preferred.
Project Management certifications e.g., PMP (Project Management Professional), Agile Certifications or equivalent is a strong plus
Education:
Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, Engineering, or related field is required
