We are seeking an experienced, passionate and tenacious Director of Sales professional to join our outstanding team at The Hampton Inn Ann Arbor South Hotel, proudly affiliated with Gulph Creek Hotels, one of the country's most respected management companies. Our portfolio includes some of the best brands in the industry: IHG, Hilton and Marriott.
You will oversee, develop, and market the sales and revenue strategies for the hotel to ensure plans are implemented, sales goals are achieved and results are monitored.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:
Guest Service:
Maintains
guest service
as the driving philosophy of the operation
Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests’ needs
Committed to making sure every guest is satisfied
Develops added-value customer service programs
Empowers hotel staff to deliver guest service by encouraging and rewarding responsive guest assistance
Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
Implements and practices guest service initiatives, trains, and performs to Gulph Creek Hotel Standards
Director of Sales Operations:
Use internal and external resources and data to develop strategic plans to incorporate all business segments.
Understand sales and business processes, support corporate and hotel goals and contribute to enhancement of customer value.
Identify customer business requirements and craft customer offers, which result in increased revenue share for the hotel.
Monitor achievement of objectives for the sales team and take appropriate action to correct shortfalls versus the annual marketing plan.
Achieve annual hotel revenue goals as agreed upon and established in the annual budget.
Maintain hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue.
Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
Articulate and leverage the benefits of the hotel to close sales opportunities.
Prepare and maintain a current annual marketing plan with measurable and specific initiatives detailed to maintain and grow each business segment.
Accept leadership responsibilities by modeling proper selling techniques, effective development of others and commitment to industry, and personal development.
Develop effective presentations (orally and written) where ideas, opinions, recommendations and conclusions are clearly understood.
Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.
Prepare Weekly Sales Activity reports and quarterly Action Plans.
Actively attend local and community networking events. Represent hotel at trade shows, industry events, and local events as specified by Hotel Marketing Plan.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Gulph Creek Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
Comply at all times with Gulph Creek standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Position Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree / equivalent in marketing or related sales field
3 plus years’ experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team is preferred
Sales leadership experience in a Branded hotel is a plus
Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope is required with operations experience preferred
Public relations and community marketing experience is required.
Proficient in use of Excel, Word, Delphi and access database tools is required
Applicants with prior experience with OnQ, DELPHI and Hilton brand experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
