Senior Accountant

LHH is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Assist in preparing management reports and presentations.
General Ledger Maintenance
Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring proper recording of transactions.
Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
Accounts Management
Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable.
Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections.
Compliance and Auditing
Ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reports.
Tax and Regulatory Filings
Prepare and review tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory reports.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting clerks.
Review work completed by team members for accuracy and compliance.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement best practices.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and tools.
Special Projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Provide support for mergers, acquisitions, or other financial initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
Skills and Competencies:
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems or financial planning software.
Knowledge of tax laws and compliance regulations.
Prior experience in a specific industry (e.g., manufacturing, retail, or technology) is a plus.
Compensation:
$30-$35/hour DOE
