Employee Benefits Client Manager
Summary
Provide service to clients in conjunction with the Risk Advisor, managing a book of clients independently. Become familiar with all their clients and be responsible for the service provided to the assigned customer accounts, ensuring that the client is well serviced.
The following details a general list of duties, qualifications, and abilities for this position. Training, resources, and continuing education will also be provided by the company to ensure that the new team member is able to accomplish the requirements of the role.
Duties
Develop marketing plan with Senior Client Manager and/or Risk Advisors and insureds.
Complete submissions to market new and renewal accounts to insurance carriers.
Prepare proposals, negotiate coverage terms and pricing.
Manage the New Business and Renewal process.
Follow up with carrier to determine plan of benefits, rates, and terms of contract.
Prepare spreadsheets, presentations, and proposals for new and renewal business for assigned clients, responsible for negotiating coverage terms and pricing.
Receive and send BOR letters to carriers.
Set up clients in EPIC.
Follow up with clients to introduce self, gather missing information, and establish relationships.
Plan and conduct open enrollment meetings.
Submit applications and forms to carriers, audit enrollment 45 days after effective date.
Terminate previous carriers within 15 days of new policy effective date.
Maintain positive client and insurance company relationships.
Proactively contact clients four times per year for the purpose of checking in and offering support and assistance as may be needed.
Process and follow up on new hire enrollment forms, requests for coverage change, and terminations.
Responsible for the integrity of policy data on Agency Management Systems and creation of new client accounts.
Manage all claim inquiries, billing discrepancies, and delinquent premiums.
Manage COBRA Administration questions and carrier updates.
Respond to all client, insurance company, or member inquiries immediately but not later than within 24 hours.
Inform or involve as necessary the Risk Advisor with “in-flight emergencies” as they occur.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ Years Experience in Employee Benefits
Advanced MS Suite Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
