Job Summary
As the Manager of Antibody Development Teams, you will be expected to effectively lead and manage the various R&D disciplines of Antibodies to successfully design, develop and small scale manufacture innovative, high performing antibodies for the various immunoassay applications.
You will be required to manage the administration responsibilities of budgeting, planning, resource management and vendor relations, ensuring projects stay within the budgeted expectations and delivery timescales. Provide leadership and oversight to the various projects across the antibody development disciplines, ensuring proper resources are utilized and aligned for prioritized programs. You will work with product development scientists and relevant downstream functional teams on the product development from inception through manufacturing as product is released into the market place.
Essential Functions
DNA cloning, vector construction and design, advanced molecular biology techniques, and optimizing gene expression constructs to promote desired gene expression characteristics (high expression, stoichiometry, chain ratio balance etc).
Analyze and interpret data, maintain laboratory notebooks and database, and generate written reports.
Act as a supervisor to the laboratory staff and work closely in a team environment, collaborating with various colleagues in recombinant protein/antibody product and technology development.
Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related life science discipline with more than 10 years of relevant monoclonal antibody development & manufacturing experience
6 years of managing technical staffs
4 years of leadership experience with life science reagent, tool & service development & commercialization
Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience
Rabbit monoclonal development experience
Anti-phosphor antibody development experience
Strong scientific understanding of recombinant protein & antibody expression, cell line and gene editing technologies as well as the ability to explore and develop new technologies and approaches.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Office : While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Occasional exposure to a laboratory and warehouse environment.
Lab : While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $157,000 - $170,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
