$70,000 - $85,000/year ( depending on experience and/or bilingual status )Work Location:

Other duties may be assigned.The essential functions include:Assist the director of Human Resources in the implementation of the organization's strategic plan, employee relation matters, and special projects.Manage and evaluate employee relations and work-related issues and develop appropriate solutions within the framework of Hillsides policy and procedures.Work with supervisors to ensure that employee relations issues, performance management, conflicts are addressed in a robust and consistent manner, adhering to legal expectations and guidelines.Ensure that effective and robust documentation techniques are used and maintain accurate, confidential records regarding all reported matters and fact-finding documentation.Maintain the highest level of integrity when managing employee relations issues and managing reported matters.Use HR analytics and data to identify trends, diagnose root cause issues, and make data-driven recommendations.Interpret policies and practices, employment laws, and other regulations to provide guidance or recommendations for employee relations inquiries.Manage new-hire onboarding and assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings on the website/career website, application/resume screening, background checks, processing new hire files and paperwork, and data entry into HRIS and payroll system.Oversee and maintain HRIS and payroll systems and process employment changes as needed.Produce necessary reports from databases regularly.Assist director with benefits & compensation initiatives including 401k Plan.Manage Workers' Compensation claims as needed.Manage claims for disability, paid family leave, and unemployment and manage employee leave of absences.Assist in the development and delivery of various training programs when needed.Represent HR in various committee meetings such as DEI, Workforce Development.Other duties as required.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES:Minimum bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in managing employee relations.SHRM or PHR Certification preferred.Bilingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.Demonstrated ability to carry a heavy and diverse workload.Possess initiative and self-direction.Valid California driver's license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier.DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI):We commit to creating an environment that promotes safety, empowerment, belonging, and justice for the entire Hillsides community through using the practices of awareness, appreciation, acceptance, and advancement.
