This position is open to current UW Medical Center-Montlake RNs only.WORK SCHEDULE90% FTE - 60% direct patient care, 30% in-office12 hour night shiftDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION7SE/Med-Surg Oncology is a 28-bed unit offering care to patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and/or biologicals. Care includes aggressive curative therapy, symptom management and palliative care. All nurses are chemotherapy certified, with education provided on an ongoing basis.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement unit policies and proceduresProvide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and standardsMonitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiativesCoordinate patient care, including admissions, discharges, and transfersCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomesAddress patient and family concerns and provide excellent customer serviceProvide direct patient careFoster a positive work environment and promote staff developmentREQUIREMENTSCurrent UW Medical Center-Montlake RNs onlyAt least 5 years of current/recent oncology nursing experienceDemonstrated leadership and/or charge nurse experienceCurrent license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington by start dateABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKEUW Medical Center was the first Magnet-recognized facility and continues to hold Magnet certification.
