Job Summary
Accountable for the coordination, administration, and control of Capital Projects, includes pre-project planning, adherence to work scope and budgets, progress monitoring and reporting and compliance within the company’s standard and expectations.
Deliver projects in the allocated time and budget.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and execute the Valaris Project Management Standards as applicable to CCP Projects.
Apply all assigned contractual, regulatory and Valaris standards to the prosecution of the work.
Develop, validate and integrate project specific scopes of work.
Effective deployment of supervisory resources to meet Project demands.
Execute projects in accordance with Master Service Agreements and project specific negotiated addendums.
Management and integration of specialist sub-contractors.
Review and approve of contractor drawings and procedures.
Initiate review and approve variation orders.
Monitoring of contractor safety management.
Quality Control and inspection.
Cost monitoring and financial reporting.
Provide timely and accurate cost and or schedule impact reports.
Ensure completion of projects and tasks as necessary.
Oversee individuals as teams to ensure maximum performance.
Prepare and submit Budget AFE and Project Plans for Sr. Management approval.
Participate with shipyard and vendors contract negotiation.
Coordinate project with other departments, classification society, vendors and client.
Review, administer, control and authorize project budget expenditures as required.
Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.
Support Marketing efforts.
Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or construction engineering and a minimum of 5 years project related experience or a minimum 10-years of project experience on international projects.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with major international projects. Experience in the design, engineering, or operation of various type of offshore drilling unit preferred.
Skills & Experience
Offshore industry or shipyard experience, new construction, modification, and repair of MODU’s experience preferred.
Ability to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the collective analysis/synthesis process.
Demonstrated effective leadership and influencing skills and practices.
Knowledge of financial accounting, purchasing and management systems.
Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks; edit and use macros; import and export information).
Proficiency in Microsoft Project
Working knowledge of document control systems and databases.
