OverviewThe Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key executive responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization and ensuring that operational strategies align with the overall business goals. The COO will work closely with the senior leadership team to drive process improvements, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of excellence within the organization. This role requires a visionary leader who can manage multiple programs and initiatives while effectively supervising teams across various departments.
Duties
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company’s objectives and goals.
Oversee program management initiatives, ensuring they are executed on time and within budget.
Supervise departmental managers, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs.
Implement change management strategies to facilitate organizational transformation as needed.
Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast operational needs and allocate resources accordingly.
Establish performance metrics to monitor operational success and identify areas for improvement.
Foster a positive organizational culture that encourages innovation, teamwork, and accountability.
Coordinate short- and long-range financial development and management of the company.
Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development to keep current in latest issues related to industry.
Develop strong partnerships with trades, ensuring performance in accordance with scopes of work and high focus on quality.
Negotiate and solicit the best price/value combination from suppliers and trade contractors; analyze cost comparisons and differences in products and services on contract agreements.
Experience
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as a COO or in an equivalent position. Bonus if your experience is in the Construction or Development industries.
Strong background in operations management, with demonstrated success in leading complex organizations.
Expertise in strategic planning, program management, and process improvement methodologies.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams effectively.
Experience in change management practices to navigate organizational shifts smoothly.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong ability to forecast operational trends and performance metrics.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
