Administered by specially trained infusion nurses, these services are provided at standalone locations, physicians’ offices. Each location provides individualized care in a private setting for procedures including IVIG, Hemophilia, Chemotherapy, TPN, and Pain Management.
THE RIVER’S EDGE STORYRiver’s Edge Pharmacy started in Rancho Mirage, CA in 2008 to address the need for compassionate care by specialty pharmacies. In 2013, the Company moved to a larger facility in Palm Desert, CA.
The successful execution of River’s Edge Pharmacy’s growth strategy led to the opening of a total of nine infusion locations and two pharmacies in California.
Since the expansion, River’s Edge Pharmacy has become the specialty pharmacy and infusion service provider of choice for patients and physicians seeking exceptional expertise, human kindness, and professional guidance.
The team of pharmacists, technicians, and care experts at River’s Edge Pharmacy serve as patient advocates by combining professional expertise with caring support. Position Summary:The Vice President of Sales and Marketing reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to drive business growth and strengthen the company’s market presence. This role leads and directs strategic marketing and sales plans, manages the associated budgets, and oversees advertising, promotional, and product positioning activities. The VP of Sales and Marketing ensures alignment with corporate objectives, analyzes market trends, and adapts strategies to maintain competitive positioning, focusing on profit optimization and market share expansion. This leader establishes and nurtures relationships with industry influencers, strategic partners, and key clients to enhance brand presence and client loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategic marketing and sales plans to meet corporate objectives for products and services.
Recommend product positioning, pricing, and distribution strategies to optimize market share and profitability.
Monitor competitor activities and adjust marketing strategies to stay competitive.
Sales & Marketing Operations:
Manage and oversee advertising, promotions, and market channel development.
Direct sales forecasting, set performance goals, and ensure sales territories, quotas, and goals are effectively managed.
Analyze and control departmental expenditures within budgetary requirements.
Performance Management & Reporting:
Prepare and present periodic sales and marketing activity reports to executive management.
Review sales performances against targets, programs, and plans to assess and adjust strategies.
Guide preparation of marketing and sales reports, ensuring consistency in corporate messaging across all promotional materials and channels.
Team Leadership & Development:
Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing sales and marketing team.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and achievement within the department.
Act as a mentor and role model for team members to encourage professional growth and development.
Client & Partner Relations:
Build and maintain relationships with industry influencers, key clients, doctors’ offices, hospitals, and vendors.
Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote the brand and products.
Support sales representatives in client interactions to build and sustain client relationships.
Product Development & Innovation:
Direct product research and development initiatives to ensure market relevance and competitiveness.
Evaluate and recommend new product opportunities or enhancements based on market trends and client needs.
Plus – may perform other duties as assigned.
Key Interactions:
Internal: Sales, Marketing, Pharmacy Operations, Accounting, Finance, IT, Human Resources, and Key Executives.
External: Doctors’ offices, Hospitals, and Vendors.
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related fields.
Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in Science, Medical, or Pharmacy fields.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 8 years in Specialty Pharmacy sales.
5+ years in a leadership role managing a large team.
Technical & Specialized Skills:
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and marketing strategy development.
Proficiency in technology and software tools relevant to sales and marketing.
Behavioral Competencies:
Strong business acumen and client focus, with a results-driven mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective problem-solving, organizational, and leadership abilities.
Collaborative team player with initiative and a growth-oriented mindset.

Working Conditions:
Standard office environment, with occasional visits to Infusion Centers, Patient Homes, Doctors Offices & Pharmacies
Occasional travel within Southern California may be required.
Full-time position with standard business hours; flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods is expected.

DOE: $200,000 - $250,000 / year
Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
