Details Client NameCentura St. Catherine Hospital - Garden City - CA Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyL&D Job ID29396946 Job TitleRN - Labor and Delivery Weekly Pay$2614.0 Shift Details ShiftNight - 12x3 - 07PM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date12/02/2024 End Date03/01/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shift Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: One year of experience preferred License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) - Required Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification - Required- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) Certification or Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Certification - Required Must-Have: - Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to labor and delivery- Ability to float within a specified distance for critical needs, which may include duties outside the original assignment job requirements Job Description: - Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records and clinical data.- Evaluate patient responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.- Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.- Demonstrate competency in therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IV administration, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.- Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.- Provide patient and family education, assessing learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.- Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate, coordinated care based on respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.- Deliver relationship-based care with respect for cultural differences and diversity of human experience.- Delegate to non-RN personnel in accordance with state board of nursing and hospital policy.- Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.- Serve as a professional role model for all staff, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.- Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individual patient and unit needs.- Use standards of care, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.- Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed; seek learning opportunities and continuing education.- Maintain professional records that demonstrate competency and lifelong learning.- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.- Use current healthcare research findings and evidence to expand clinical knowledge and enhance role performance.
