Details Client NameCentura St. Catherine Hospital - Garden City - CA Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyNICU Job ID29469589 Job TitleRN - Neonatal Intensive Care NICU Level II or III Weekly Pay$2302.0 Shift Details ShiftNight - 12x3 - 07PM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date11/04/2024 End Date02/01/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) Level II or III Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 1 year of NICU experience preferred License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) required Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification - Required - STABLE certification - Preferred Must-Have: Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to NICU specialty Job Description: - Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.- Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.- Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.- Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.- Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.- Provide education to patients and families by assessing their readiness and needs for learning, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.- Provide relationship-based care that respects patient preferences, values, and needs, recognizing the patient or designee as a full partner in care.- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with state board regulations and hospital policy.- Utilize time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care.- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing practices.- Manage resources and patient flow by aligning nursing competencies with patient and unit needs.- Use standards of care, hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.- Mentor new staff or nursing students as needed, seeking learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence.- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.- Use healthcare research findings and evidence to enhance clinical knowledge and role performance.- Participate actively in hospital and unit-based meetings to support the organization's goals.- Use quality measures to improve performance and accountability for patient outcomes, safety, and experiences.- Take care of neonatal patients ranging from feeder-grower to bubble CPAP and TPN. May initiate cooling protocols where appropriate.- Possibly care for well babies in the OB unit if there are no patients in NICU; adult patients will not be in care scope.- Floating may be required to any affiliated location within 60 miles of the original assignment location, including duties outside original job requirements according to policy.
