**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)**Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER)**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** 12-hour nights, every other weekend, first to float**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week**Experience:** Minimum 2 years in specialty**License:** Valid RN License**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred, COVID Vaccine, NIHSS**Must-Have:** Level II trauma experience or above, high volume and high acuity ER experience
**Job Description:**
- Nurses will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on the first day. This is a pass/fail test.- The unit consists of 28 beds, 4 fast-track, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds.- Nurse-patient ratio is 1:4.- The charting system used is Cerner.- Charge nurses are available but do not take patient assignments.- EMTs work as nurse aides, assisting per shift, with an additional midshift EMT.- Weekend requirement is every other weekend.- Holiday work is integrated into the permanent staff rotation.- Scrub color is navy.- Telemetry equipment is GE.- The facility has ventilators available.- A hospitalist and intensivist are available 24/7.- No IV team is present, but respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7.- Nurses are required for on-call duty up to one day per month.- Shift schedules are 12 hours; day shifts run 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; mid-shifts vary between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; night shifts vary from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.- Self-scheduling is encouraged, with efforts to accommodate travel nurses.- Candidates participate online specific orientation for 2-3 shifts.- Common patient diagnoses in the ER include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric cases.- Candidates must be experienced in promoting and supporting a teamwork environment within the ER.- The hospital may cancel up to three times per contract. Each cancellation could be a full shift or part of a shift.
