POSITION/TITLE: Manufacturing Manager DEPARTMENT: ManufacturingREPORTS TO: General ManagerREVISION DATE: 11/04/2024POSITION SUMMARY:Utilizing a LEAN Manufacturing mind-set - Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensure the Production Team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively maintaining high-quality. Lead and directs the work of assigned manufacturing and assembly departments. This role requires strong leadership abilities, a keen understanding of manufacturing practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement.RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies.Support all current and new product introductions. Determine and eliminate root causes to problems and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process.Able to assist in reducing cost. Assist in the assessment of vendor/subcontractor evaluation for consideration. Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met.Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment, and operations for better utilization.Work closely with research and development, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures. Aid in the development and implementation of production schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation.Monitor quality control processes to maintain product standards and compliance with regulations.Lead, train, and mentor manufacturing staff to enhance their skills and productivity.Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain management.Manage inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for timely material availability.Perform other duties, as assigned.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:Bachelor's Degree 7-10 years progressive experience in Marine Manufacturing. Management experience required. QUALIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Rotomolding experience preferred Proven track record of reducing costs through processes and efficiencies. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Hands-on, team oriented and committed to business improvement processes. Process-oriented mentality. Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.Strong project management skills Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.Risk assessment capability of product, processes, and suppliers. Technical training and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple priorities. Computer literacy: Basic skills with MS Office Suite. Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools for process optimization.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Work performed in an office and factory settings.Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors, and fumes.Occasionally required to lift up to20 lbs.Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.
