Job Summary
We are seeking a QA Tester to work on a real-time messaging-centric safety system for Positive Train Control (PTC). The QA Tester will work onsite, collaborating with a software development team to implement and test software, primarily on Windows backend (90%) and Linux (10%). The role includes designing and executing tests, troubleshooting software problems, maintaining lab infrastructure, and supporting software configuration management activities.
Key Responsibilities
•Perform automated testing using UFT and execute regression testing.
•Gather requirements, design test cases, and perform component and integration testing.
•Conduct functional testing on .NET applications and support DevOps-related tasks.
•Execute SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
•Collaborate with the QA Lead and team to improve software quality, including root-cause analysis for escaped defects.
•Engage in manual testing at the user interface level as required.
•Support production by monitoring and maintaining lab infrastructure.
•Document test cases, results, and maintain general documentation as needed.
Required Qualifications
•90% Windows backend testing, 10% Linux.
•Automation experience with UFT.
•Strong skills in regression testing, component testing, and integration testing.
•Experience in gathering requirements and writing test cases.
Preferred Qualifications
•Functional testing experience on .NET applications.
•Experience with DevOps practices.
•SQL skills for database validation.

Bachelors Degree
