Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and highly technical leader to join our team as GIS Manager. This position requires an individual with exceptional expertise in GIS technologies, a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing GIS teams, and a strategic mindset to drive the organization's geospatial initiatives forward. You will assist in setting the strategic direction for all geospatial activities, overseeing the development and implementation of enterprise-wide GIS solutions, and fostering a culture of innovation within the GIS team.
Responsibilities:Identify and pursue opportunities to grow Altamira-US's environmental consulting services, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to expand our market footprint.Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic vision for the organization's geospatial activities, aligning it with overall business goals.Lead and manage the GIS team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure a high-performing and results-oriented environment.Oversee the development and implementation of complex geospatial solutions, including custom applications, data integration, and advanced spatial analysis.Champion the adoption of new and emerging GIS technologies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.Advocate for the value of GIS across the organization, collaborating with internal stakeholders from various departments.Manage and allocate GIS resources effectively, ensuring alignment with budget and project requirements.Utilize project management skills to break down projects into actionable tasks with set timelinesOversee data governance and security protocols for all geospatial data.Represent the organization at industry conferences and events, fostering external partnerships and staying abreast of industry trends.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and technology providers.Qualifications:
Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field (or a Bachelor's degree with extensive experience).7-10 years in a leadership role within the GIS field, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing GIS teams.Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic GIS initiatives that drive growth and deliver business value.Technical Expertise :Extensive experience with GIS technologies, including spatial data analysis, geoprocessing, scripting languages (Python, ArcPy), and leading GIS platforms (ArcGIS Pro, version 2.95 preferred).Proficiency in PODS version 7.2.Experience with Field Maps including Arcade scripting language expertise.Experience with Trimble GPS systems and software integration.Advanced skills in PostGIS, LiDARx7 data processing, and Python programming.Experience in LRS and ARP as applied within ArcGIS Pro and PODS.Experience with ARCGIS Online and ARCGIS EnterpriseExtensive knowledge of pipeline operations, specifically upstream and midstreamExcellent skills in communication, presentation, and interpersonal interactions, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse audiences.Ability to apply strategic thinking with a focus on ROI and cost-benefit analysis.Capacity to motivate, inspire, and delegate effectively within a team.Benefits:
