Director of Employment Services
in
Columbia, SC . The
Director of Employment Services
develops appropriate employment opportunities geared towards all levels and needs for people with disabilities. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of the employment program both programmatically and fiscally. Working collaboratively with other programs, this person ensures the employment goals for the individuals supported are met.Starting Salary Amount:
$60,000 per year*T his position will be based out of Columbia but requires weekly travel
to our Greenville and Charleston locations*ResponsibilitiesManage employment programs and partner with stakeholders in compliance with stateregulatory bodyDefine contract requirements for vocational and employment activities with appropriateagenciesManage contract procurement and disbursements for community-based programsNetwork with business leaders to develop employment, volunteer, and internship opportunitiesProvide training on the methodology used to teach individuals the skills needed foremploymentAssist with training individuals to perform on-the-job tasks and work routinesSurvey job openings and facilitate interviews with potential employers and participantsBuild a support network between individuals and community membersAssist with business development, fundraising, and grant development for employmentprogramsEnsure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timelyMaintain a high-quality program in accordance with our standards and missionPerform all duties necessary to meet state approved objectives and requirementsRecruit and screen candidates and assist with training as necessaryEstablish internships for people with disabilities with potential employersEmployee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, orinvestigationEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background,central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testingAdditional tasks and responsibilities may be assignedMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degreeMinimum three years of experience in related field or two years as a COI Employment SpecialistACRE certified or similar credentials (preferred)Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving recordComplete all state and agency required training per state guidelinesKnowledgeable in the areas of state regulatory bodies and regulationsAbility to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receivingsupportsAbility to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsWorking ConditionsFrequent local travel may be required utilizing own vehicle or company provided vehiclesMay be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staffFrequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be requiredMay be required to lift or move 25+ poundsMay be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseasesWhy Community Options?Competitive Insurance Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)Paid Holidays---Including a Birthday HolidayGenerous PTOEmployee Incentive & Discount Programs403b Retirement PlanIncredible career growth opportunitiesIf interested, please apply now or s
