The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in defending insurance coverage and/or extracontractual matters. This role involves drafting coverage opinions, managing insurance claims, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. Strong research, writing skills, and a solid academic background are essential for success in this position.DutiesDraft and deliver detailed coverage opinions on complex insurance issues.Conduct thorough investigations into insurance claims to assess coverage and liability.Manage all phases of written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.Prepare and file pleadings, substantive motions, and other legal documents.Represent clients effectively in mediations, court appearances, and trials.Develop and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.Analyze and interpret policy language and coverage issues to provide strategic legal advice.Stay updated on current developments in insurance law and litigation practices.Requirements5-7 years of litigation experience specifically in defending insurance coverage and/or extracontractual matters.Demonstrated expertise in writing coverage opinions and managing complex insurance claims.Proven ability to handle written discovery, depositions, and draft essential legal documents.Experience representing clients in mediations, court appearances, and trial settings.Excellent academic credentials and strong research and writing skills.EducationJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsActive Bar License in California.SkillsIn-depth knowledge of insurance coverage and extracontractual litigation.Exceptional research and writing capabilities, with a strong record of drafting precise legal documents.Proficient in managing discovery processes and conducting depositions.Strong advocacy skills for mediations, court appearances, and trial preparation.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment.
