As a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, you'll play a crucial role in the food supply chain, ensuring timely deliveries while fostering lasting relationships with customers. You will drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck for the delivery and unloading of food products, all while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will represent our company while interacting professionally with customers and teammates.Key Responsibilities:
Conduct all necessary safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer as per DOT regulations.Adhere to DOT regulations and company driving policies, addressing safety hazards promptly.Perform count checks on items and verify customer invoices of loaded products.Accurately complete all required paperwork related to freight.Navigate to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.Follow a predetermined delivery schedule and safely deliver customer orders.Unload products, transporting them to designated storage areas at the customer’s location.Check for damages, scan items, and communicate necessary actions to your supervisor.Verify deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures.Handle cash or checks as required.Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.Ensure that all equipment and freight are secured.Unload damaged goods and returns for check-in according to company protocol.Maintain accurate daily records of hours of service, adhering to all regulatory requirements.Keep the tractor and loading area clean and organized.Secure all equipment and complete required paperwork at the end of your shift.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience.High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.Valid CDL-B license.Must be 21 years or older.Meet all state licensing requirements (when applicable).Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.Successfully complete a road test.Possess a current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.Able to lift and move products weighing between 10-90 pounds.Company Overview:Performance Foodservice, part of the Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading broadline distributor serving various local customers such as independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
