Position Purpose:As a Food Service Delivery Driver, you play a crucial role in maintaining our nation's food supply chain. You'll ensure timely and safe delivery of customer products while also being the face of our company, fostering strong customer relationships.Key Responsibilities:Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, answering questions accurately and promptly.
Work collaboratively as a team member and assist with any required duties to effectively serve the company.
Conduct all safety checks (pre/post trip) in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring your vehicle meets company safety standards.
Report safety issues or necessary repairs immediately.
Follow all DOT regulations and adhere to company safety driving policies.
Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices accordingly.
Drive to delivery locations following a predetermined route and unload products into designated customer storage areas.
Perform delivery verification with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
Handle cash or checks when required and manage customer returns safely.
Keep all equipment, trailers, and freight secured and locked when not in use.
Maintain cleanliness and order in trucks and loading dock areas.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including daily service logs in compliance with Federal DOT and company guidelines.
Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:12 months of commercial driving experience.High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.Valid CDL A license.Ability to meet all state licensing and certification requirements.Must be at least 21 years of age.Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) over the past 3 years.Pass post-offer drug tests and background checks.Successfully complete a road test.Possess a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to obtain one.Able to lift and utilize equipment for handling product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights, typically 10-35 lbs, and occasionally up to 90 lbs.About Us:Performance Foodservice, a leading broadline distributor, partners closely with a variety of local customers, such as independent restaurants, hotels, and schools.
