CDL A Local Truck Driver

In this role, associates will work alongside experienced driver trainers on deliveries and routes, communicating professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues.Key Responsibilities:Complete Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.Assist driver trainer in executing deliveries and routes.Conduct safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations.Report any safety issues or required repairs immediately.Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.Maintain accurate paperwork related to freight, including item counts and customer invoices.Ensure proper loading and securing of freight before delivery.Drive assigned routes to deliver customer orders according to schedule.Unload products and transport them to designated storage areas at customer locations.Perform damage control checks on items and document as needed.Secure customer signatures upon delivery and collect payments where required.Handle returns and ensure proper documentation is completed.Keep the vehicle and loading areas clean and organized.Complete daily logs of hours worked in compliance with Federal, state, and company requirements.Perform additional related tasks as assigned.Qualifications:6-12 months of commercial driving experience preferred.High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.Valid CDL A license.Must be 21 years of age.Clean Motor Vehicle Report for the last three years.Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.Pass a road test.Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain new one.Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to handle freight ranging from 10-90 pounds, as necessary.Company Overview:Performance Foodservice, part of PFG, is a broadline distributor maintaining strong relationships with various local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
