Must be an external applicant to qualify.Working supervisor who supervises Sterile Processing activities associated with processing of equipment, supplies and instruments utilized for diagnostic or surgical intervention following infection control practices, AORN Recommended Standards and AAMI guidelines. Is responsible for the daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing department including sterilization of all surgical instrumentation for CWH and supported facilities. Must have good interpersonal skills necessary to direct the work of subordinates and to communicate effectively and interact with all levels of the medical staff.Position Reports To: Clinical Manager Essential FunctionsThe supervisor will support the manager in carrying out department objectives. The supervisor provides a leadership role for the continuous quality improvement.Supervisor will be involved in interviewing and hiring scheduling, coaching, corrective action and performance reviews.Provides the leadership to have a competent and satisfied employee group by doing timely performance appraisals, providing development and mentoring of subordinates and staff.Activities include decontamination, packaging, sterilization and issue to the user departments. Interprets policies, procedures, standards and regulations.Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management.Participates in planning, budgeting, (Fiscal and Capital) and general management efforts for the department of which the unit is a part and stays within budget.Functions as a liaison between customer departments, vendors, and the CS departments.Maintains professional self-development by participating in education opportunities available both internally and externally.Other duties as assigned.Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times. QualificationsRequired:4 years relevant experience.Certified Surgical Tech experience OR, ADN or BSN may substitute for 2 years of the experience requirement.Must have experience with Sterrad, Steam, and Steris Sterilization. Knowledge of Decontamination, Assembly, Packaging and Sterilization Procedures.CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) and CHL (Certification in Healthcare Leadership) through IAHCSMM required within 18 months of hire.Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures.
