What You'll Do
As a Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing and controlling manufacturing costs for two plants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Serving as a key liaison between operations and finance, your responsibilities will include:
Setting and maintaining standard costs, analyzing labor, material, and inventory impacts, and reviewing BOMs and routings.Supporting monthly close processes with journal entries, production order closing, and WIP evaluation.Analyzing and reporting on variances, conducting discrepancy research, and recommending corrective measures.Reconciling balance sheet accounts, monitoring inventory transactions, and supporting physical inventory planning.Partnering with plant personnel to ensure the accuracy of BOMs and routings.Leading process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in cost-tracking.Preparing reports on plant trends for monthly forecasting and budget planning.Collaborating with plant leadership and providing financial insights to enhance operational performance.What You'll Need
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience:
At least two years of Cost Accounting experience, ideally in a Build/Engineer-to-Order manufacturing environment.Skills:-Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with major ERP systems (QAD preferred).-Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an inquisitive mindset.-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial personnel.-Self-motivated, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.Location:
Ability to work on-site as needed at our Fort Worth and Garland plants.What You'll Gain
