Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the cost accounting function and providing support to the finance team. This role requires a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
•Manage and oversee the cost accounting function, including standard cost development and variance analysis •Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports related to cost accounting •Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures •Coordinate with external auditors on audit and tax matters related to cost accounting •Provide guidance and support to accounting staff related to cost accounting matters •Monitor and analyze inventory levels and costing processes •Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement related to cost accounting
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance •5+ years of experience in cost accounting •CPA or CMA certification preferred •Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles and practices •Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills •Excellent analytical and communication skills •Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks •Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Education:
•Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance •CPA or CMA certification preferred
