Job Description:
The Media Buyer II is responsible for driving the expansion of media programs through critical analysis of available data and negotiations with media vendors. The Media Buyer II provides strategic direction across the buying team; executing strategic campaigns and buying plans, staying in budget and optimizing performance, campaign health, and profitability. In addition, this role maintains stability of assigned accounts, expanding the advertising program through networking, research, negotiation, and testing.
Job Responsibilities:Negotiates rates to ensure maximum profitability.Prepares any correspondence needed for negotiation and maintaining relationships with outside representatives and/or agencies.Monitors profitability and performance of current ad schedule.Reviews ad performance on each media account prior to scheduled start date of future ads to determine how buys should be made (rates, placements, creative, etc.)Coordinates advertising schedules and creates advertising contracts on assigned accounts utilizing our proprietary ad databaseCoordinates with Production regarding creative needs for advertising including review of advertising pieces before public viewingProvides strategic direction across the media buying team.Informs manager of any issues on accounts or media that will affect the overall bottom line, either immediately or in the future Maintains marketing database and advertising performance metricsTesting into and expanding into new media which results in profitable ROIInitiates strategies for improvement of production and other systems in the department and helping to implement themCoordinates the trafficking of all ad buying contracts, insertion orders, vendor relations, and reviews and enters/approves all related invoicesOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience5 Years of Advertising or Media Experience
Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
