We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Machine Shop Scheduler /Programmer to program CNC routers and schedule efficient workflow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As the Machine Shop Scheduler / Programmer, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently building the highest quality heavy-duty transit bus through the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement and operational excellence. You will be responsible for all aspects of producing quality parts and requires a creative thinker.As the Machine Shop Scheduler / Programmer, you will report directly to the Supervisor of the Fabrication Shop.IN THIS ROLE YOU WILLProduce error-free programs by analyzing technical specifications and ensuring optimal machine performanceSchedule job releases, maximizing machine uptime and material utilization in the most efficient way possibleWork with supervisor to maximize workflow in accordance with capacity scheduling and crewing, while maintaining quality and quantity standardsConduct root cause analysis and recommend, implement, and maintain corrective actions, focusing on continuous process improvementWork collaboratively with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, Sales and Warehouse to optimize GILLIG’s internal supply chain and ensure required production material availabilityEnsure the continuous improvement of quality, service, and total cost in support of business goalsPerform other duties as requiredBASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5 years Fabrication / Machine Shop experience with knowledge of industrial safety, shop operations, and equipmentHigh School Diploma or GED requiredProficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and weldmentsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), capable of interpreting and creating detailed reports and schedule documentsSkilled in data analysis and decision-making skills based on large datasetsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExtensive CNC router (Fanuc controllers) experience, including setup and optimizationExpert in reading and writing G Code programmingFamiliar with ERP/MRP systems, such as Syteline or SAPDeep understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologiesWORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to lift 30 lbs.Assignments are complex and broad in scope requiring outstanding creativity, superior initiative, judgment, and leadershipThis is an exempt role, and while typically follows a standard work week, 3-4 Saturday workdays per year are required to meet operational needsRegularly required to sit, stand and walk and occasionally kneel or squatWorking environment includes office settings, manufacturing floor, and warehouse$75,000 - $275,000 /annual salary + premium benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
