Role Description
The Executive Vice President, Human Resources will serve as a strategic leader and trusted advisor to the executive and leadership teams, driving HR initiatives to attract, develop and retain talent and supporting each regional team to create an effective and supportive working environment for all employees. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the HR function, including talent acquisition, organizational development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, HR compliance and employee relations. The EVP, HR plays a crucial role in shaping the organization’s people strategy to support business growth, future acquisitions, improve employee experience and ensure legal compliance. Additionally, this role will conduct ongoing assessments of the organization’s culture as well as support the HR team and Regional Leadership with specific challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
Develop and execute the organization’s HR strategy which aligns with the overall business goals.
Partner with executive and regional leadership to create a workforce strategy that supports company growth, acquisitions, and on-going needs.
Promote a company culture that reflects our values and enhances employee engagement.
Act as an advisor and coach to senior leaders on HR issues, talent development and employee satisfaction.
Talent Acquisition and Retention
Design a consistent talent acquisition process and strategic recruitment plan that meets the current and future needs of the organization.
Assist Regional Human Resources teams with recruitment challenges which includes the recruitment of physicians, nurses and licensed clinical social workers.
Develop consistent onboarding, training, and leadership development to support employee success and growth.
Establish a consistent and comprehensive onboarding program.
Employee Engagement and Development
Align with executive, leadership, and HR teams to create and execute the employee engagement strategy which includes recognition programs and regularly scheduled organizational climate surveys.
Create and lead employee programs to create employee satisfaction and a positive workplace.
Establish and oversee performance management process that create pathways and training for career growth and advancement.
Compensation and Benefits
Regularly assess competitive compensation and benefit programs that attract and retain talent.
Ensure cost-effective and employee-centered compensation and benefits plan to include salary increases, bonuses and benefit plan improvement.
HR Compliance and Employee Relations
Leads the Regional HR team in establishing consistent guidelines and tools for managing employee data, exit interviews, employee evaluations, grievance response and disciplinary process.
Collaborates with the Regional Executive Directors and COO to establish escalation guidelines for employee grievance or disciplinary action appeals beyond the regional level.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. (Master’s or MBA preferred)
7 years of progressive HR experience to include demonstrated success in post-merger integration and culture building, experience managing geographically dispersed workforce and record of HR team development and transformation.
Minimum of 3 years managing a HR function in a company of 500 plus employees.
Experience in change management and organizational development.
Experience in recruitment and retention tools, onboarding, organizational employee engagement surveys and employee recognition programs.
Healthcare industry experience preferred.
SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
Must have ability to travel between locations on a regular basis.
