Fire Protection and Performance Coatings

(Flame Control, Highland, and US Coating) division. The IC group services the Performance, Polymer Flooring, Insulative, Marine, and Fire Protection Coatings Markets. Technical Service Specialist

will work as a technical liaison with customers, sales, technology management, marketing, manufacturing and R&D. Provide technical training and engineering support to close business, identify new product development opportunities, trouble shoot, and write engineering reports. Travel required up to 40% depending on business needs.Position ResponsibilitiesWork directly with existing, potential, and new customers to identify, qualify, close, and maintain Protection and Performance Coatings applications.Design and implement programs to develop the technical data needed to support the use of our technology.Reviews projects, makes recommendations and works on new projects and/or ongoing development of projectsDevelops procedures and process documentation by working through customer specific procedures onsite and assist in the development of technical and application specificationsWorks with our customers to implement best practices regarding the application of material and quality assuranceIdentify new opportunities for product development and work with development project teams to bring these opportunities to market.Provides technical training to our own people as well as customersProvide timely technical support to customer inquiriesTravel with sales representatives to develop first-hand understanding of customer needs and application details.Minimum RequirementsB.S. Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or other technical degree with a G.P.A. of 3.3 or higher preferredMinimum 3 to 5 years of demonstrated related experience in flooring, or paint and coating industryCustomer support experience (providing product application training)NACE training is preferredDemonstrated project management and laboratory skillsStrong customer relations and interpersonal skillsSense of urgency, self-starter takes the initiativeExcellent communication skills, including presentations, training, and technical writingPosition Reports to:
