Job Description:Looking for a position to positively impact education and literacy across Nebraska? We have it! The Literacy Program Specialist will support implementation of the Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) and the Nebraska Literacy project in collaboration with the Literacy Officer and a team of passionate educators.
The hiring team is looking for candidates who are highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask and meet deadlines. This position requires coordination of the CLSD grant activities to track progress, issue contracts, and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders.
This position is
fixed term , with an end date of September 30, 2029.
Office Location & Schedule:
This position is assigned to our office located at 84th & O St, Lincoln, NE.
Pay Rate:
$33.118/hour
This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.

Supports activities for the Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) grant and the Nebraska Literacy project.Coordinates CLSD grant activities including tracking progress, issuing and monitoring contracts, facilitating collaboration between stakeholders, and adjusting plans to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.Provides technical assistance and guidance to program participants related to standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.Creates and awards competitive sub-grants and monitors activities of the subgrantees to ensure alignment with project deadlines and budget.Conducts surveys, gathers results, and compiles information to assist with program evaluation and continuous improvement to increase program sustainability.Prepares and communicates project updates or reports for internal and external stakeholders.Works collaboratively to ensure budgets reflect major projects and initiatives, operational requirements, and changes in state and/or federal regulations.Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Working Conditions and Travel:
This position requires approximately 95% of work time spent in an office environment; the remaining 5% is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as schools, educational service units, and other service agencies. There is also approximately two days of overnight travel per month.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Program or project management courses or training and experience coordinating significant programs related to education.
