Transportation Coordinator

Summary:
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day aspects of inbound deliveries to the Distribution Center from designated product vendors. The Transportation Coordinator also serves as a backup for outbound shipping process.
Schedules inbound shipments using the most cost-effective mode of transportation and consolidates when necessary.Professionally assists carriers with communication between the distribution center and product vendors regarding all deliveries and pick-ups.Monitors outstanding shipments to ensure pickups and deliveries are made as scheduled; contacts carriers, vendors, buyers, and/or Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) team to resolve issues.Assists with managing the DC unload report which includes matching inbound shipments with PO's and advance ship notices (ASN).Processes vendor charge backs for inbound freight violations in a timely fashion.Processes manual freight invoices through Accounts Payable and ensures that invoices received through the Transportation Management System (TMS) are processed in a timely fashion.Reconciles advance ship notices, bills of lading, and TMS data, and corrects discrepancies.Arranges outbound containers for delivery and vendor returns (RTV).Compiles data and generates various daily, weekly and ad hoc department reports in a timely and accurate manner.Assists others in the department as needed.Requirements:• High school diploma or equivalent.• Prior transportation/traffic or Distribution Center experience is a plus.• Familiarity with Shoe Carnival's internal databases a plus; or ability to learn.• Strong computer skills, to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.• Strong communication skills to include oral, written, and interpersonal.• Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.• Possess a strong attention to detail and follow-up.• Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently.
