Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Retail Area Manager, based out of our Washington DC Market. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to work closely with the growing team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of major growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, passionate about operations, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).
The Area Manager will report directly to the EVP of Retail Operations and will oversee the entire Washington DC market. The Area Manager's primary responsibility is to oversee all General Manager's and the profitability of their assigned ice cream shops. The Area Manager will oversee logistics, staff performance and happiness, scheduling and labor, high-level payroll functions, quality of product, store profitability, store aesthetics and customer service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Train, coach, supervise and provide support to assigned GM's to achieve store metricsEnsure successful rollout of new products, systems, practices and policiesCommunicate regularly with team membersWork with HR to ensure all company policies are being followedOversee staffing efforts with HRAnalyze GM performance and provide feedback, guidance, training and encouragementProvide operational solutions to issues that arise in the storesAssist GM with order placement and delivery coordinationAssist in monitoring overall customer experienceAssist GM with health department inspections and preparationSpend regular time in stores in order to fine-tune processes and keep tabs on employeesAssume leadership role in stores where a TL is not presentJOB REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in a multi-unit manager or area manager position requiredServSafe Manager Food Handlers LicenseProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google-suite toolsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to train and coach team members of all levelsAbility to multitaskAble to push/pull 50 lbs of weightAble to stand for prolonged periods of timeAble to repeatedly bend overPERKS + BENEFITS
