Job Summary

The Production/Inventory Planner is responsible for reviewing and prioritizing order requirements, determining manufacturing capacities, scheduling work center product and labor flow. The Production/Inventory Planner is also responsible for generating production schedules to meet customer and manufacturing requirements for designated commodities and establishing and maintaining inventory levels at multiple distribution centers.

Essential Job Functions *

Reviews inventory levels and safety stock at Hillman distribution centers and schedules the manufacture of product to meet specified ship dates; transfers product to Hillman distribution centers and tracks shipments.Reviews large customer orders for inventory availability and possible production schedule changes; promptly informs appliable departments of those changes.Advises appropriate individuals when component availability or production capacity problems place inventory levels at risk.Attends production and sales meetings to keep abreast of unusual product demands.Analyzes MPS/MRP reports and verifies production/packaging requirements for priority sequencing.Coordinates the production capacity of individual work centers with the Manufacturing staff and adjusts planned quantities and priorities accordingly.Publishes prioritized daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules by work center.Works with buyers to expedite or reschedule raw material due dates and quantities.Work with Manufacturing Engineering to provide production capacity plans for the manufacturing areas to determine labor requirements and to effectively level load the manufacturing areas.Generates broad view planning schedule to facilitate machine maintenance and inventory/demand reports for management review.*

Education & Experience

Associates Degree in a related field; BA in Business or Supply Chain and 4-6 years' experience in a related field preferred.APICS certification a plus.Prior Manufacturing Planning experience preferred.Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Has experience working with MPS/MRP principles and logic.Knowledge of ORACLE Enterprise One preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).Strong attention to detail and strong organization skills.Operational Equipment
