Trueline's client, a well-established public accounting firm with over 40 years of experience serving small to medium-sized businesses in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Tax Supervisor to join their team. What You'll Do as the Tax Supervisor:• Oversee and participate in the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small to mid-sized businesses• Conduct tax planning, projections, and research to provide clients with proactive guidance• Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development• Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, managing their information requests and inquiries• Ensure adherence to quality standards in tax filings and client documentation• Support client tax resolution and respond to complex tax inquiries• Assist in firm-wide initiatives and special tax projects as needed
You'll Succeed as the Tax Supervisor if you Have:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax (supervisory experience preferred)• CPA, MsT, or EA certification (or actively working towards it)• Strong understanding of GAAP and federal/state tax regulations• Proficiency with tax software (UltraTax preferred) and QuickBooks• Solid research, analytical, and problem-solving skills• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail• Strong team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
