Demand Manage r to join and lead our growing Optical Connectivity business to ensure achieving forecast accuracy of 95% or higher of all finished goods on a rolling three month basis. Our goal is to reduce forecast bias to +/- 2% across all product categories and to reduce our SMOG inventory by 20% annually. This team must ensure 100% compliance with data entry standards in Salesforce and maintain a 98% accuracy rate in the demand funnel.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the demand planning process within the S&OP frameworkOversee the development and maintenance of statistical forecasting models for all product linesGuide the Demand Analyst in data collection, analysis, and forecasting activities, maintaining the demand funnel and ensuring data accuracy in SalesforceCollaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional activities and market intelligence into demand forecastsAnalyze market trends, seasonality, and historical data to identify patterns and improve forecast accuracyManage the consensus demand planning process, facilitating meetings and resolving conflicts between different functional areasContinuously monitor forecast accuracy and bias, implementing corrective actions as neededProvide regular reporting on key demand planning metrics to senior managementIdentify and manage risks related to demand volatilityDrive continuous improvement in demand planning processes and systemsMentor and develop the Demand Analyst ensuring their growth and performanceDecision Rights

Forecast Approval:

Final approval authority

and accountability

for demand forecasts before they are presented to senior management or incorporated into the S&OP process.

Process Changes:

Can implement changes to the demand planning process within the team.Proposes major process changes that affect other departments to VP Supply Chain for approval.

Resource Allocation:

Decides how to allocate team resources (time, budget) across various projects and initiatives.

Performance Management:

Authority to conduct performance reviews, recommend promotions, or initiate disciplinary actions for direct reports.

Technology and Tools:

Recommends new demand planning technologies or tools for approval by VP Supply Chain.Has final say on how approved tools are implemented within the team.

Stakeholder Management:

Decides how to manage relationships with key stakeholders, including which meetings to attend and how to present demand planning insights.

Risk Management:

Authority to implement risk mitigation strategies related to demand planning within agreed parameters.

Key Competencies (Technical)

Advanced proficiency in statistical forecasting techniques and software (e.g., SAS, R, Python)Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and S&OP processesExpertise in inventory management and optimization techniquesProficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and VBAKnowledge of ERP systems and their integration with demand planning toolsProficiency in Salesforce CRM and its reporting capabilitiesKey Competencies (Behavioral)

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field; MBA preferredMinimum 8-10 years of experience in demand planning or related roles within manufacturing organizations, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacityCertified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or other relevant professional certifications (e.g., APICS)Demonstrated experience in implementing and improving S&OP processesStrong track record of improving forecast accuracy and inventory performanceExperience with leading demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA)Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and its integration with demand planning processesWorking Conditions
