Job Profile SummaryUnder limited supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating and managing the College's fixed assets including, but not limited to maintaining the computerized fixed asset records, overseeing the annual physical inventory, disposing and transferring assets, recording depreciation in the general ledger and developing any related schedules needed for the year-end closing, financial statements preparation, and internal and external audits. Provides training and guidance to other employees on the Fixed Asset System.

Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or related field.An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.Minimum Experience/Training:

Six years of relevant experience.Essential Functions:

Daily - 10%: Develops, implements, and monitors the College's internal controls and procedures to ensure accurate recording of fixed assets in compliance with the College's policies and accounting standards. Reviews and updates fixed asset records to ensure proper classification, useful life, and accounting treatment.Weekly - 5%: Runs the Untagged Asset report on a weekly basis and follows up on exceptions by coordinating with departments to ensure assets are appropriately tagged and accounted for.Monthly - 5%: Maintains and updates fixed asset records in the system, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.Monthly - 10%: Prepares and records monthly depreciation entries into the general ledger, ensuring accurate allocation of asset costs. Processes asset disposals and prepares detailed disposal packages for submission to the Board of Directors for approval. Reviews all disposal transactions to ensure proper documentation and compliance with policies.Annually - 30%: Reconciles all fixed asset-related accounts to the general ledger on a regular basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Completes an annual reconciliation of all fixed asset accounts to the general ledger, ensuring accurate reporting for annual financial statements and for the external audits. Assists in year-end closing activities related to fixed assets, including preparing schedules for all asset types with supporting documentation. Prepares and maintains capital assets details as part of the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with GASB and other applicable accounting standards.Annually - 30%: Organizes, coordinates, and assists with the annual physical inventory of fixed assets, ensuring accurate identification and valuation of assets. Investigates discrepancies between physical counts and recorded assets and updates the fixed asset system accordingly. Conducts periodic reviews during the inventory process to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to established procedures.Other, As Needed - 5%: Provides training and guidance to other employees on the Fixed Asset System, ensuring proper use and adherence to procedures for asset additions, disposals, and transfers.Monthly - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
