The Investment Analyst will support the management of the firm's model portfolio offerings. This includes serving as a primary expert in one or more asset classes (e.g.: fixed income, equities, etc.), performing due diligence on investment strategies within assigned coverage area (mainly ETFs & SMAs but may include other investment vehicles), making recommendations on asset allocation and product implementation as a member of the team's investment committee.
As a member of a small team, the Investment Analyst will be expected to understand, participate in, and improve the operational processes that KIM uses to manage its suite of model portfolios across multiple custodians. Additional responsibilities include partnering with KIM Operations and Investment Specialists to assist in answering advisor questions on our model portfolios, contribute to KIM's investment content, participate in advisor presentations and Kestra conferences, and develop ongoing partnerships with Kestra's other departments, particularly wealth management and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform due diligence on ETFs and other investment offerings to select and monitor the best products to be used across KIM's model portfolios.Follow a disciplined process in pursuit of identifying the best products, document all decisions, and maintain databases of your investment research and supporting materials.Proactively identify new investment opportunities within assigned coverage area and present these ideas to the investment committee.Develop relationships with representatives of product companies and portfolio managers of products that are both used in our model portfolios and those under consideration for inclusion.As a team player, assist with operational duties and processes involved in the ongoing management of model portfolios, e.g.: production and review of marketing materials including series briefs, portfolio profiles, trade commentaries, entering model portfolio changes on Envestnet and Morningstar Direct.Present to groups of financial professionals to educate and inspire confidence in KIM's models, develop presentations that reflect investment ideas in a clear and logical narrative supported by data formulated in charts and tables.Other duties as assigned, which happens often in a small but fast-growing team.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES:
A sincere interest in investing with a strong desire to be a decision-maker in the hiring and firing of investment strategies.Experience in analyzing investment products, primarily ETFs and mutual funds, from both a quantitative and qualitative lens.Attention to detail as managing data gathered from multiple sources is a significant and ongoing challenge as an analyst.Ability to work with large data sets and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, or other programming skills.Ability to develop strong relationships.Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal contexts.Ability to develop scalable processes.Personal integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, and entrepreneurial environment.Ability to always put the client (our financial advisors) first.Ability to adapt and evolve over time, working both autonomously and collaboratively depending on the specific task.Experience with a wide range of investment related technology and tools (prior knowledge of Envestnet, Tamarac, Factset, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg is a plus).SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate degree from a four-year accredited college or university.Advanced degree or CFA designation preferred.A minimum of 5 years of experience in investment research with a focus on identifying and selecting products for inclusion in asset allocation models is preferred.Prior experience with investment advisory platforms.Experience researching multiple asset classes and product types.Demonstrated success working in an entrepreneurial environment a plusSeries 65 license, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.Sense of humor and willingness to have fun a must.OTHER DUTIES:
