It will be a vital part of our leadership team.OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: Our ideal candidate will start off with a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. This is a critical role and requires at least 15 years of quality and manufacturing experience, along with 5 years in a leadership role. To be successful, candidates should have significant experience and knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 and/or IATF/TS16949. Experience within a Tier 1 or 2 automotive, specialty automotive or aerospace equipment supplier preferred, but not mandatory.HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:The Director of Quality will develop and maintain a company-wide quality strategy and management system, fostering a culture of and driving continuous improvement across the organization; providing leadership to cultivate a culture of high standards and customer satisfaction. You will EXPLORE: By ensuring that critical suppliers used by the organization are selected, evaluated, and reevaluated and that records of this assessment are maintainedBy promoting and utilizing diagnostic and predictive quality tools, such as SPS, statistical analysis, and Lean to drive practical continuous improvement in quality of serviceBy facilitating problem detection, ownership, root cause analysis, and effective corrective/preventative actionBy implementing continuous improvement practices, including organizing and leading Kaizen events focused on quality and manufacturing processesBy developing process experts and training our workforce on quality methods and standardsYou will INNOVATE: By collaborating with NPD/Design and Operations on product design and tooling to drive production qualityBy working across the organization to ensure the quality management system aligns to both operational capabilities and customer requirementsBy managing and facilitating the corrective action system; customer, internal, and supplier, including interaction with key customersBy leading interactions with key customers on quality related matters, including corrective actionsBy proactively managing performance (right people, right role)By partnering cross-functionally and providing guidance on the development of quality and CI training for all relevant team membersBy increasing team capability, flexibility, and accountability to meet customer/business requirementsBy continually assessing the quality organization and structure to align business needs and personnel capabilitiesYou will PERFORM:By ensuring the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and regulatory/legal requirementsBy coaching, mentoring and providing support and leadership to the organization on the use of Lean, Six Sigma, and CI toolsBy ensuring required processes for the Quality Management System are established, implemented, and sustainedBy ensuring that document control procedures are adopted and utilizedBy ensuring that an internal audit program is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to requirementsBy establishing robust corrective/preventative action systems to improve operational performance related to customer requirements, including metrics like scrap, rework, and cost of poor qualityBy teaching, coaching, and performing problem solving using PDCABy facilitating the practical deployment of CI methods and tools Skills Needed:Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skillsAbility to work with others in a positive, collaborative mannerPractical knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing methods; Kaizen, A3 problem solving, FMEA and process flow developmentDemonstrated leadership in implementing Lean methodologiesEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
