SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The dean provides leadership for the academic programs inthe Kelley College of Business & Professional Studies andsupervises 14 full-time faculty and a half-dozen adjuncts. The College offersbachelor's degrees in the business fields of Accounting, BusinessAdministration, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Management, andMarketing. Its Irvin School of Education offers Bachelor's Degrees in HumanServices Administration and in the teacher certification fields of InterdisciplinaryGeneralist, Early Childhood to Grade 6, and 17 fields in the Arts &Sciences. It offers the Master of Business Administration, Generalist, theMaster of Business Administration in Sport Business, and the Master of Arts inManagement. Leadership is needed in the form of planning, development, andimplementation of all academic programs within the College. The successfulcandidate will need to have excellent communication skills and to be able towork closely with other deans and university administrators. The dean isresponsible for the preparation of comprehensive annual reports for the HSUBoard of Trustees and accrediting agencies. The dean will work withfoundations, organizations, and donors of the College to promote growth ofendowment and support. Active participation in state and national professionalorganizations is encouraged.

Communicate effectively with faculty, staff,and University constituencies.

Possess an informed understanding of thechallenges facing Christian higher education in the twenty-first century and anopenness to innovation to meet those challenges.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thedean will supervise two associate deans, four department heads, fourteen full-timefaculty, and six to ten adjunct faculty, staff, and student workers.

Must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver'sLicense and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable under theuniversity liability policy.
Must be able to drive to complete work assignments onand off campus, as needed.
Additional travel may berequired on occasion for training workshops and/or professional conferences,etc.
