CONTACT INFORMATION: Human Resources 325-670-1259 or careershsutx.edu SUMMARY/SCOPE: This positionwill design, install, maintain, and support hardware and software systems forall internal and external applications, help plan and implement securitypolicies and controls on all systems on campus, and assist in training system users. HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Theseexamples do not include all possible tasks & do not limit the assignment ofrelated tasks Responsiblefor system administration, including design, specifications, evaluation,recommendations, configuration, installation, and management of server andstorage hardware and applications. Administersand supports on-premises application servers as required. Administersand supports cloud-hosted applications as required. Responsiblefor day-to-day operation, user support, user training, product reporting,product updates, and product documentation for various applications. Performstroubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems and systemsissues. Assists with upgrades of network hardware and software components asrequired. Coordinateswith colleagues to ensure proper security, licensing, and maintenance of allserver hardware, University applications, and related resources. Coordinateswith colleagues to establish and implement security policies and controlswithin systems and applications. COMPUTER SKILLS: Toperform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of theMicrosoft Office Suite of products. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or Equivalentrequired. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred and/or or a combination oftechnical education and related industry experience. 5 -7 years of related industry experience stronglypreferred. Experiencein VMware, Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Azureor Office 365, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager,and PowerShell preferred. Experiencein higher education preferred. Must be able tolearn quickly, be detail oriented, and have effective communication skills. Must be able to work with multipleconstituents in a manner congruent with the image and mission of theUniversity. Constituents include but are not limited to students, faculty,staff, trustees, and trustees. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This positionis a Full-Time, Exempt Level Staff Position at the HSU Campus. A minimum of a 40-hour work week isexpected. Irregularhours, occasional evening and weekend work and/or assignments beyond a 40-hour week may be requiredduring peak season and/or to meet project deadlines. Infrequent travel maybe required on occasion toattend training workshops. Must have andmaintain a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clear driving recordto be insurable under the university liability policy. Mustbe able to drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
