SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The Department of Physical Therapyat Hardin-Simmons University seeks an applicant to join our dynamic andpassionate faculty as assistant/associate professor. This is a 12-month,full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. The preferred candidate must have a physical therapy license withstrengths, interests, and certification as a neurological specialist. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assumethe role of primary instructor for a variety of courses with a focus inNeuroscience and Neurorehabilitation.
Prepare and presentmaterials in areas of assigned courses that meet learning objectives.
Develop assessments toevaluate student competencies within courses.
Be an active member inassigned university and department committees.
Establish and carry out anactive scholarly agenda.
Participate inuniversity, community, and professional service activities.
Advise and mentorstudents through the curriculum and on research projects.
Complete yearly universityassessments for self and peer evaluation.
Assist in laboratory andpractical exam experiences; serve as an expert guest speaker within and outsidethe department.
Participate in patientcare and program pro bono clinical services.
Represent the PT Department and University in an ethical andChristian manner.
Demonstrate an active interest in the Department's missionactivities.
Utilize CANVAS as theLearning Management System as course professor.
Display excellentcommunication skills including conflict resolution and mentoring.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's is required as theprerequisite to attaining the DPT.
A DPT degree with post-professional doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or ScD) preferred;those working towards completion of post-professional doctorate will beconsidered.
ABPTSor other specialty certification preferred.
Previousteaching or guest lecture experience in physical therapy program preferred.
Minimumof 4 years of practice experience as a licensed physical therapist with a focusin neurological rehabilitation preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Licensureor eligibility for licensure as a PT in the state of Texas required.
A specialty certification in neurology is preferred.
Current CPR certification for all ages is required.

Thisposition is a Full-Time Exempt Level Faculty position with a teaching load atthe Hardin-Simmons University campus. Must be willing to relocate to Abilene,Texas, or the surrounding area to teach in-person classes on the HSU Campus
Musthave and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clear drivingrecord to be insurable under the university liability policy.
Mustbe able to drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
Infrequenttravel may be required on occasion in order to attend training,etc. Additional travel may be required for student evaluation/sponsorshipand/or professional development.
