OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

The

Network Systems Administrator

(NSA) primary responsibilities are to manage, maintain, and optimize the organization's computer networks and systems The NSA ensures high availability and reliability of network infrastructure and resolves network-related issues The NSA will monitor system performance, install software and hardware, and provide technical support to end-users and embrace a critical role in maintaining network security and implementing updates to maintain secure systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs Network AdministrationDesigns, installs, configures, and maintains network hardware & software, including routers, switches, firewalls, & VPNsMonitors network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionalityPerforms network upgrades and security updatesConfigures network devices and manage user access to maintain network securityDocuments network configurations, changes, and upgradesOther duties as assignedSystem Maintenance

Installs, configures, and updates operating systems and software applications on servers and workstationsConducts regular system backups and implement disaster recovery plansMonitors system performance, perform tuning, and manage system resources to ensure reliabilitySchedules and performs regular maintenance to minimize downtimeSecurity Management

Implements and manages network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus softwareMonitors network activity for potential security breaches and respond to incidents in a timely mannerRegularly reviews and updates security measures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsTrains employees on network security protocols and best practicesTechnical Support

Provides technical support to end-users, assisting with connectivity issues, network troubleshooting, and general IT queriesCollaborates with the IT team to resolve escalated issues and provide solutions to complex technical problemsManages network access for new employees, including setting up user accounts and permissionsPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED:

Network Optimization and Planning

Evaluates existing network infrastructure and recommend upgrades or improvementsRemains current on emerging technologies and suggest integrations to enhance system efficiencyAssists in developing and implementing IT policies and proceduresCollaborates with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and procure network equipmentEDUCATION AND IF REQUIRED,PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION(S);

Associate or BS degree in Computer Science or Information SystemsProfessional certifications in Microsoft Server, Cisco Hardware, VMWare and NetApp preferredEXPERIENCE:

Apple/Macintosh technical and functional support background is a PLUSMinimum of five (5) years of experience in a networking support environment, with a strong focus on managing software and hardware support team(s) and/or equivalent experienceManaging software projects including planning, implementation, user training and documentation desiredKNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES:

Proficient in network protocols, hardware, and services (eg, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Strong understanding of network security protocols and best practicesExperience with firewall configuration, VPNs, and security managementFamiliarity with server administration, virtualization, and backup solutionsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical usersAbility to learn new systems, processes, & proceduresA gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situationsEQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
