Job Summary:
The Senior Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in cost accounting functions, providing financial insights, and supporting key business decisions in a manufacturing environment. This role includes managing inventory analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting internal departments with analytical insights.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Inventory and Cost Analysis : Manage inventory reserves, variances, and standard costs calculations. Conduct thorough analysis to support purchasing, sales, and production teams.Financial Reporting : Oversee cycle count results reporting, analyze financial statements and budgets, and manage monthly account reconciliations.Capital Asset Management : Maintain and report on capital asset activity, ensuring accurate financial representation.Internal Controls and Compliance : Review and reinforce internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) guidelines.Journal Entries and Reconciliations : Create and enter general journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and ensure alignment with company standards.Cross-functional Support : Provide analytical support to various departments, enhancing data-driven decision-making.The above job description is general, management may assign other duties as required
Qualifications Required:
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA designation preferred.Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting.Technical Skills :
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced expertise in MS Excel.Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.Competencies :
Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Professionalism :
