How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Global Business Development Mgr, Data Centers & Technology, you will lead global business development activities to drive sales growth of evaporative cooling towers and fluid coolers in data centers and semi-conductor manufacturing facilities (digital technology applications) with particular focus on data centers. While the role has global oversight, the primary focus will be North America and coordinating activities with international sales teams. The person will act as the global vertical market manager, working with our regional sales teams to achieve revenue and profit goals from sales of cooling towers and fluid coolers into digital technology applications. His/her key activities will include developing and driving execution of strategic growth plans in the assigned vertical(s), developing and executing on key account management plans with the goal to develop and strengthen Marley relationships with key decision makers (including key end users, OEMs, contractors and engineering consultants) in the assigned vertical, and developing market intelligence (including market, customer and technology trends and competitor analysis) relevant to driving sales growth in the assigned vertical. The selected candidate should have a demonstrated track record of actively growing sales, driving key account management, and developing sales strategies in digital technology applications. The ideal candidate would have experience of selling engineered products in data center applications and have connections with key decision makers in the industry. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: Develop and implement a business development and sales strategy to grow revenue and profits from cooling tower and fluid cooler sales in data center and semi-conductor manufacturing applications: Develop and maintain relevant market intelligence including key markettechnologies, customer trends and competitors. Lead efforts to translate the market intelligence into actionable plans (including sales strategy and product development) to grow revenue and share. Work with regional sales leaders to identify and prioritize key customers including end users, OEMs, engineers and contractors. Lead key account management activities and coordinate customer relationship activities with sales team for the data center and Semiconductor verticals: Develop, manage and implement key account management activities for priority customers. Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements. Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives and needs. Actively pursue key accounts and work with the global Marley sales network to grow those accounts. Support the sales organization and leaders to develop, grow and manage the pipeline and improve win rates for data center and semi-conductor manufacturing verticals: Develop strategies for quoting opportunities and working with customers including setting pricing levels. Contact and meet with customers to discuss all aspects of proposals and close opportunities. Develop and cultivate customer relationships by meeting with customers, conducting presentations, and discussing opportunities. Work with end users, OEMs, engineers and contractors active in the data center and semi-conductor manufacturing vertical to make Marley productsbasis of design. Work with customer service and quality teams to resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust. Responsible for the sales targets in Americas and coordinating strategy and activities with sales leaders in EMEA and APAC for the assigned vertical. Travel as necessary to support customers. Complete additional duties as required by management (e.g. productivity goals, QMI sessions, etc.). What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience Existing knowledge of and experience in the data center or related market Key account management experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to effectively manage data and understand analytics using a CRM / pipeline management tool Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of HVAC/cooling towers is helpful but not required Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, notably in Engineering or another technical field Travel & Working Environment Driver's license and proof of insurance Willingness to travel at least 50 percent of the time Office environment with varying degrees of noise levels May work outside and may be exposed to bad weather, heat, and/or excessive noise How we live our culture Our culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
