Position Summary Information
Responsibilities• Research, identify, and write new (or continued) government, corporate, foundation, and private funding prospects to match Delta State priorities.• Coordinate and follow up on the progress of submitted proposals.• Remain up-to-date on current issues relative to grant proposals.• Meet regularly (in-person or virtually) with faculty/staff to discuss current and new funding needs.• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications• Bachelor's degree required.• Experience in grant writing or proposal development.• Previous grant budget development and management.• Opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify opportunities for Delta State University.• Ability to work effectively under pressure.• Excellent writing and verbal skills.• Strong organizational skills with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes.• Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data.• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel), and database management skills.• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.• Able to work remotely or in-office. If remote, be willing to abide by the remote work policy at DSU
SalaryCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications• Master's degree.• A record of securing major grants with certifiable references.• Knowledge of the grant application process, scoring criteria, and funding cycles.• Previous grant application, submission, approval, and management of funds.
