We are looking for a Payroll Accountant who is an impact player to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. The ideal candidate is expected to have a deep sense of ownership, the ability to identify process improvement opportunities, possess a strong operational and technical accounting background. This individual will drive positive change across the organization and enhance partnerships between various Four Hands stakeholder groups.

In This RoleApproval of Company's payroll through 3rd party vendor, Rippling, in an outsource arrangementPrepare, review and submit entries for approval and postingOversee the timely and accurate delivery of payroll processes and procedures for multiple states, reviewing important information each pay period (i.e. base wages, headcount, salary changes, benefit changes, etc.) to ensure accurate payment to employeeLead annual 401K audit of Payroll contributions and fundingReconcile payroll and benefit accounts including preparing necessary adjusting journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reportingDrive acceleration of the current GL close process by identifying and leading the implementation of automation and streamlining of the monthly/quarterly close processesPrepare supporting schedules and facilitate follow-up as part of the external and bank auditEstablish and own effective internal controls and appropriate accounting procedures, including evaluation of processes and controls for complianceInteract with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting challenges, drive operational improvement, and enhance financial processesContinuously scale and improve current processes and policies to meet the needs of a high-growth organizationUphold our Core Values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands teamOther tasks as assigned by ManagementThe Ideal Person

Bachelor's degree in accounting required2+ years of progressive payroll accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibilitiesStrong multi-state payroll tax knowledge including tax nexus, compliance rules for withholding and unemployment taxes and multi-state mobile workforce complianceHigh attention to detail and processing diligence is a must in order to prevent company exposure to tax penalties/assessments, and to ensure a high degree of compliance with federal, state and local payroll tax regulationsPositive attitude, ability to work well and fast under pressure, exceptional customer serviceResults driven with a high sense of urgency, taking ownership and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesSolid understanding of US GAAP, general accounting processes and internal controls, and financial analysis toolsIntermediate-level experience using Excel, including the ability to work with complex tables and X-look-upsAct with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationshipsFoster open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around youContinuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to changeFocus on superior outcomes, and calibrate work processes for outstanding results
